Having not had breakfast in Wharton we went to see if Los Cucos was open as we really like their food. They were closed but we noticed Larry's had a big breakfast crowd. Follow the crowd, right?
The inside of the restaurant is pretty nice. There is ample seating and tables without being jammed in. There is a TV in the main dining area which is nice.
Our waitress was friendly and attentive. That's all we ask for and she delivered.
We got salsa and chips. Nothing special or disappointing here. The salsa stated out with a fairly mild but ends with heat on the tongue. Beware, the initial mildness is deceiving.
Our food came out and the portions were good. This is where our only disappointment came in. My wife's bacon was obviously burned and dried out. It should have never come out of the kitchen in that condition. They were quick to change it out for some fresh that was much better. I had a fajita taco and a sausage and egg taco. Both were good. Wife said here breakfast was good too.
All in all, we were satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to come back. -

DO NOT EAT HERE! SAVE YOUR MONEY!
We've eaten at several Mexican restaurants since we've been in Wharton for work. This place is by far the worse! I would recommend Taco Bell over Larry's! Ordered Guacamole dip, was just plan guacamole not even seasoned. I ordered the Larry's Deluxe (Enchiladas meal with beef) if I had to compare it to something it would be canned dog food rolled in a tortilla and SMOTHERED in fake cheese! It came with a taco, just plain unseasoned beef with a salad stuffed on top of it. I only ate one bite of each thing. My brother ordered The El Patron and forced himself to eat his enchaladas and only took a couple bites of everything else. In the end my bill was $65.00. Management don't care to hear what you have to say about their food. Service is terrible. It took 20 mins just to get a tea and a coke and they were $5 each. On the way back to the hotel we stopped at Dairy Queen. This place is an incredible waste of money! -

My husband & I came here our first morning in Texas & it was excellent. Very casual atmosphere, friendly staff & patrons. I was surprised that they start you off with chips and salsa for breakfast! Our server asked if we liked spicy and recommend the Huevos Rancheros. Two eggs cooked anyway you'd like & covered in spicy salsa. It came with tortillas, potatoes, beans & bacon. My husband had the barbacoa taco and the chorizo & egg taco. I have to admit, my breakfast was good but my husbands was better! I would go here every morning for tacos if I could.

Cold day. Went there for a hot lunch. Have not been there for several years. Typical basic Tex-Mex food. All good. Had Larry's Special Dinner. Excellent. Good service. It was so cold that the waitress was wearing her coat.
